My comment is… you need to go and see for yourself..
It has been great working with Rastom in MyFest show at Langkawi FM this year. After the first quarter ended, did we decide to take a rest? The answer in NO!! Office politics led to our rest… I must say it is perfectly alright if the management wanted it stopped for the time being.. but why?
Here is the answer : The administration thought that we had over quoted the name of sponsors in our quiz show. Perhaps that is true for certain sponsors. But there was also a sponsor who sponsored RM10,000 for the show.. how about that? Did we over mention their name? The answer is we mentioned too little about their name. However, it is great that the sponsor (GEO Training STUDIO) didn’t mind about it, as they just wanted to sponsor some students, and they got 2 new students for that. Those lucky students are now enjoying Tourist Guide classes without having to pay the RM5,000 fee.
It is a common practice for this poorly managed radio station to chop off good shows.. just because a no quality lady performer is jealous maybe..? well… this is so childish lah.. no need to be jealous of others lah.. just improve yourself lah if you are so desperate to be popular lah.. hahaha… i hope she will learn that popularity is not important at all…
I first joined this station in 1995, then 2002-2004, then 2014-2015. I experienced the same thing.. So, this time it is expected and anticipated with no hard feelings whatsoever.. They seem to like to keep out good show off the radio.. for childish reasons too.. but why? ahak ahak.. live goes on..
Our first broadcast on 1st March 2014 brought into the attention of the functions of tourist guides. We invited an experienced Blue Badge Tourist Guide name Allen, who was kind enough to explain to the public what roles should the guides play. He also explained the difference between green and blue badge. Also joined us by live telephone were Mr Amin, a Tour driver who promoted interesting venues around Langkawi. Wendy on the other hand, as a green badge guide promoted bird watching and warned the danger of bird feeding.

It has been a very interesting time together with Rastom this year since 1st March 2014 in Visit Malaysia Year Show at Langkawi FM. Rastom who used to be my BOSS in 1995 at Radio Malaysia Langkawi then, is my sparring partner for this show. After exactly 10 years of disappearance from radio activities, it was quite a pleasure when invited by Rastom to team up in VMY 2014.
As Malaysia promotes its Visit Malaysia Year globally, we also try to anticipate the government’s vision in this program through live interviews with some key personalities on the island such as the Tourism EXCO Datuk Rawi, various experience Tourist Guides, Human Resource Managers of resorts like Puan Zainab Shuib (feature photo) and the tourists themselves. As Malaysia continues its Visit Malaysia Year program for 2015, we will also continue this program, except that our new schedule shall be on every Sunday 2-3pm.
We hope to come up with weekly lucky prizes through quizzes throughout the program. So, stay tune to 104.8 Langkawi FM.

We may not even realize that a pilot can be our first tour driver before we reach a destination of a country. Captain Aliff Rosmi was kind enough to explain how the pilots take effort to rotate or circulate a city before a craft touches the ground, which allow the passengers to have a glimpse of the city they are visiting.
VJ, a senior guide was our special guest who explained more on the functions of our tour drivers including the taxi drivers, boat skipper, and van or bus driver. It is important that the tourist feel safe with these individuals as they portray the first impression of a country. They also need to explain preferred destinations if not the best..
We thank Amin, our on the road driver who let a honey-mooners from India to speak to LangkawiFM.. and we wish them a very pleasant stay. Zoher gave us information on ‘Mambu leaves’ believed to have healing abilities, and he will be back with us in the future for more nature talks.
